§ 6.0 — Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Firm excludes all liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, content published on this website. This includes but is not limited to any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential loss.
The Firm's liability in connection with the provision of professional legal services is governed by the terms of the applicable letter of engagement and is subject to the Firm's professional indemnity cover maintained in accordance with the requirements of the Malaysian Bar.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under Malaysian law.
§ 7.0 — Engagement Terms
Commencement of Professional Services
The Firm does not act for any client until a letter of engagement has been issued and accepted in writing. Submission of an enquiry through this website does not create a solicitor-client relationship or impose any obligation on either party.
Each engagement will be governed by a separate letter setting out the scope of services, the responsible lawyer, the fee arrangements, the applicable billing frequency, and any specific terms relevant to the matter. The Firm will also conduct client due diligence in accordance with its obligations under applicable anti-money laundering and know-your-client requirements before or shortly after commencing work.
The Firm reserves the right to decline any enquiry or to cease acting in circumstances permitted by law and professional conduct rules, including but not limited to conflict of interest situations and circumstances where the engagement would place the Firm in breach of applicable regulations.
§ 8.0 — Fees and Billing
Fee Structures
Fees displayed on this website are indicative starting points for the relevant practice area and are subject to confirmation based on the specific scope and complexity of any given matter. The final fee arrangement for each engagement will be set out in the letter of engagement.
All fees are denominated in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) and are subject to applicable taxes and disbursements unless otherwise stated. The Firm will provide reasonable advance notice of any disbursements or out-of-pocket expenses expected to be incurred in the course of a matter.
Invoices issued by the Firm are payable within the period specified in the letter of engagement. The Firm reserves the right to suspend services in respect of matters where invoices remain unpaid beyond the agreed payment period.
§ 9.0 — Confidentiality
Solicitor-Client Confidentiality
Information shared with the Firm in the course of a professional engagement is subject to legal professional privilege and the duties of confidentiality that apply to solicitors under Malaysian law and the rules of the Malaysian Bar.
Information shared through this website's enquiry form before any formal engagement is commenced will be treated as confidential and used only for the purpose of responding to your enquiry and assessing whether the Firm is in a position to assist. It will not be disclosed to third parties except as required by law.
The Firm's obligations of confidentiality do not extend to situations where disclosure is compelled by law, court order, or regulatory obligation, or where the client provides informed consent to disclosure.
§ 10.0 — Governing Law and Jurisdiction
Applicable Law
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising in connection with these terms, or with the use of this website, shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.
